Do you want a healthier, better behaved, and more fun furry friend?

Welcome to Apex K9.

It is our belief that most people barely scratch the surface of the capabilities of their canine companion. We offer those individuals that want more for their dog the tools and information necessary to take them to the next level.

Be it bringing home your own Apex K9 pup, raising your pup, instilling the basic foundations of obedience, or advanced work, Apex K9 can point you in the right direction.

The Bug

We always had dogs growing up. There’s pictures of Case napping as a toddler on our German Shepherd and of Ash sharing ice cream cones with her Golden Retriever Cougar. From there, our love for dogs grew as we did.

Case fell in love with working dogs, specifically Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds back in 2013. Cruising YouTube, he came across Full Spectrum Warrior’s Rich Graham and was amazed with his dog “The War Beast.” Seeing the two of them work together gave him goosebumps and he had to know more.

Case dove right when Ash surprised him with a Dutch Shepherd in early 2015. He began training daily and researching to learn as much as he could about the breed, their characteristics, and how to develop as a dog man. By 2016, he had started Delta Canine, offering online and in-person obedience training.

Fast forward to 2019. Case has been training people in dog obedience for 5 years, and as a family we have 4 personal dogs of our own. Our newest adventure is focusing in on developing superior pups from the ground up. Our first litter hit the ground in April and another will be available at Christmas.

It took Ash a little longer to be convinced working dogs could be her thing too. After Cougar she raised Copper, another Golden with a laid back easy to please personality. By the time Copper had matured Ash planned on the next season being filled with toddlers not velociraptors running around. When I first showed her the pictures of the super high-drive Malinois I believe her response was “oh heck no”.

Now, you can find Ash walking on an elevated log with a dog in front, a dog shouldered, and managing our 3.5 yr old ball of spunk daughter. Her favorite thing to do besides capture pictures of the dogs is to work agility. Shes constantly pushing our dogs to new limits or finding different ways to challenge them. After all, teaching a dog to become comfortable with the basics of high-level agility starts with the handler being willing to show the dog they too are willing to climb up there and try it. I guess we shouldn’t be too suprised then that Ash’s favorite aspect is balancing on a log 6ft off the ground, climbing up a ladder with a dog in front of her and a dog behind her, or hopping from platform to platform. Ash always wanted to push herself and now she has a best friend she can do it with.

These dogs aren’t for the faint of heart but they are so worth it. The Malinois and the Dutchies are some of the most capable dogs on the planet. They can excel at a variety of platforms such as scent work detection, search and rescue tracking, high-level agility, home or executive level protection work, and on and on.

Whether you’re looking for a superior working dog for a Sheriff’s department, wanting to find an confident and capable companion for your family, or need help training a dog of your own Apex K9 can help you on your journey. We have a variety of high-level dogs with a variety of skill sets and personalities available, and have trained several successful cases of obedience for families with dogs of all breeds, capabilities and sizes.

I cannot get over how much of an improvement. I can vouch for Apex K9's training services, their professionalism, and customer service. Our Golden Retriever used to tug on the end of the leash and jump all over guests. After training, Copper was a brand new dog.

Case and Ash have a true gift with dogs. They watched our girl as a pup for 24 hours and had trained her to sit and stay in her dog bed without barking. We still use these commands 1.5 years later. Case and Ash train because they love to do it and that is a very special thing.
